The Weather

It’s raining, it’s only +8 ºC and it’s dark outside. The mood is like these pictures I took in St. Andrews years ago. I have to say that these are some of my favourite photos as well as one of my favourite places on Earth. I love the English weather because I can hardly stand the summer heat, but this time I get excited when the weather forecast says that already this Sunday we will have +20 ºC, so all we have to do is wait for Sunday.

Success

I am proud of our small Etsy shop StitchersLand, we have 200 sales now. Congratulations to my shop partner and patterns designer Serafima Abramova! You are the best designer and we are the best team! It’s time to celebrate!

Gardening

Some years ago I worked as a teacher at the after-school centre, where there were different classes for children from the area. The classes were very different: teaching foreign languages, drawing, sculpting, ceramics, and similar plastic classes. There was one teacher at the centre who was particularly beloved by the children for her patience, desire to see talent in each child and ability to develop that talent. She painted gorgeous pictures and I received tulips as a gift from her similar to the ones that grew and bloomed this year in my small garden. That’s how this lovely picture turned out.

Baby Blanket

Baby girl Zuzanna was born last week at my husband’s brother’s family, so as a crocheter I felt it my duty to make a blanket for her. I crochet it of 50% cotton 50% acrylic Lola yarn with a 2,5 mm (4) Clover hook using moss stitch.

Gardening

It’s cold and rainy in Warsaw today, but I was lucky to take sunny photos some days ago because my small garden was in bloom. I cannot grow up a lot of flowers because of two big spruces outside (one of them is blue spruce), so the ground is too acidic though I noticed, that daffodils and tulips feel good under such circumstances. I was surprised by daffodils with two or even three flowers on one stem. I had never seen them before or maybe I just didn’t look closely enough. Anyway, they look great and smell wonderful, so I’m going to plant more of them this fall. By the way, I am also going to plant hydrangeas on my little piece of land in the fall, since I’ve read recently that these majestic flowers are very fond of acidic soil. I’m just not quite sure if they’ll get enough sun, but I think it’s worth a try. However, that will come in the fall and for now, welcome to my spring garden.

Trumpeter Swan – New Cross Stitch Pattern

The Trumpeter Swan is the largest of all North American Swan species with a wingspan of 185 to 250 cm, so it is the heaviest flying bird in the world. We have smaller Swans in Eurasia like Whooper Swan or Tundra Swan and some authorities considered them as the same species. The adult Trumpeter Swan’s plumage is entirely white, cygnets are usually pale grey. They are loud with their cry sounding similar to a trumpet, which gave the bird its name. Like other Swans, they often mate for life and if his mate dies, a male Trumpeter Swan may not pair again for the rest of his life. As I know, these big, palatial birds are the symbol of marital fidelity in cross-stitching, so stitchers often choose them as a gift for a wedding.

Daffodils

I’ve devoted a lot of time to create this beautiful spring flower – the daffodil. It is going to be my new garland, not typical because without leaves, crochet only with flowers. I’ve crocheted only one flower as far and am going to create the new bunting this weekend because we have Monday free of work and celebrate Constitution Day. Unfortunately, the weather forecast says that there will be a cold and rainy weekend, so I plan to spend more time with my crocheting.

Fun Fantasy Cars Sal

I’ve finally done this funny project. A frog visited me some time stitching the last part (which means I had to unpick some stitching because of my mistakes) but I still managed to do it and I have to say that there was a lot of fun and joy stitching all these cute parts. Durene’s fantasy and imagination are incredible as always. We all know how talented she is and how she can make all stitchers happy! Thanks again, Durene, you are the best! xhttps://www.facebook.com/DureneJonesCrossStitch

The Most Popular Item

Today I decided to take stock of the sales in our CrochetCabinetCrafts shop on Etsy. It turns out that the most popular product is Daisies garland. It was sent to Basildon and London in the United Kingdom, Hedgesville, West Virginia and Enfield, New Hampshire in the USA. I always check the address where I send my products to avoid possible mistakes because customers are human too and can make mistakes. Also, I like to know where my product will decorate the house and where the people who liked my product so much that they decided to buy it live. I can also add that I enjoy reading about these cities, so working for Etsy you could say expands my horizons not only filling up my wallet 🙂 Thus, this is today’s hero:
