Woodland Sal
Some time ago I started new cross stitch Sal from Kate by Durene Jones pattern. I ordered a pattern and a fabric because it was specially designed and dyed for this Sal. The first was Barn Owl, the second – Rabbit.
Then I stitched Weasel and Stag.
Unfortunately, then I took a break in stitching this Sal, because I decided to complete East Asian Inspirations Sal. So after the break, I came back to Woodland Sal and stitched next parties, not in the order: they are Badger and Deer.
Next was Frog, the central part and all the Sal looks like this way:
Two last parts I’ve stitched are these: Squirrel and Harvest Mice.
Now I can’t wait the next parts appear and we are discussing in our stitching group what they will be – Fox, Wolf, Hedgehog, or some more nice woodland animals. There will be three more animals here, so to be continued 🙂

Stoats Cross Stitch Pattern
Update on our Slavic Horoscope cross stitch patterns. I’d like to present you Stoat – sign, that is current for people, who were born these days – from 10th March to 10th April. So what can we know about Stoats character? – The Stoat is a beast that feels great power in itself. It is overflowing with it so he does not sit still for an hour, always on the move. If you see him immovable and collapsed, you are deeply mistaken, believing that you finally saw the Stoat resting, because he feverishly comes up with either a hundred sophisticated tricks at once: how to penetrate into the neighbouring forest and steal from other stoats, or how to choke all the nasty squirrels in his forest. The stoat is so confident in himself and his right, that he does not care about the norms, rules, laws. He is truly convinced that he is doing a good and necessary thing when he steals from a chipmunk – how fat he is! – that he is loved and admired not only for his dexterity but also for his actions.
People, born under the patronage of the Stoat are distinguished by their energy and active life position. Something happens to them all the time. Having Stoat in friends, it is very difficult at least once not to be involved in an adventure. They love adventure and can do several things at once. The Stoats are always convinced they’re right. Sometimes it becomes like stubbornness and can lead them to trouble, although in general, the Stoats are kind and responsive – they often come to the rescue first, even without being a close friend, and they are, in fact, most often a selfless and responsive man, more willing to help than others.

Hamster Cross Stitch Pattern from Slavic Horoscope Series
The next our Slavic Horoscope animal is Hamster – some of the most loved pets.
The hamster – a creature that sleeps almost nine months a year, but the rest develops a frantic activity, having time to gather bread from the fields and stuff the storerooms to the ceilings.
The Hamster Man is able to work day and night without rest, hastily sip hot coffee and go back to work. On days like these, he can make as much as the Ants-born does in a month. But then the Hamster, exhaled, falls with his tongue sticking out and comes to his senses for a long time, and the Ant works, works, works, and when it comes time to compare the results, it is still unknown who has more time!
Hamsters are loved for their unabashed character, slowness and kindness. They love to rest and they know how to do it, even if the rest – is just lying on the grass in the sun.
For every cross stitcher or embroiderer, the term “hamster” has a special meaning – it makes us “to hamster” our supplies so that we never run out of threads, fabrics, needles, special scissors, kits and other things we need for developing our hobby.
Shopping Bag
Due to Covid-19 I’m on quarantine and working from home. That means I don’t have to go to companies and teach there, I just work on Skype, Messanger, Whatsapp etc. So I have more time for my hobby 🙂 Hence new ideas, for example, for summer bags – ecological, because made of cotton and reusable. I made linen for myself, now I make light turquoise and then there will be powder pink, which is already booked. Unfortunately, the Polish Post Office does not accept shipments abroad and I can only sell these bags on the local market, but I hope, that the situation will change for the better and you will be able to have a new shopping bag for the summer.
The First Spring Flowers Cross Stitch Pattern
Spring is in the air, so we have a new first spring flowers char – Scilla Siberica, or Siberian Squill, or Wood Squill pattern. This beautiful blue flower is native to southwestern Russia, the Caucasus, and Turkey. I think, that this cross-stitched flower will bring spring mood to your house at any time of year, but especially in winter, it will remind you that spring is just around the corner.

Wood Grouse Cross Stitch Pattern
We have a new bird cross-stitch pattern, this time a big one. It’s a Wood Grouse, which is also called Western Capercaillie, or Heather Cock. It is the largest member of the grouse family. Male and female Capercaillie birds can be individually identified easily by their size and colouration. Our pattern presented a male.
At one time it could be found in all the taiga forests of northern and northeastern Eurasia within the cold temperate latitudes and the coniferous forest belt in the mountain ranges of warm temperate Europe. In Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Russia their populations are large, and it is a common bird to see in forested regions. However, the Scottish population became extinct, but has been reintroduced from the Swedish population; in Germany, it is on the “Red List” as a species threatened by extinction, so it has not been hunted in Scotland or Germany for over 30 years.
Singing during breeding season is probably the most interesting thing about Wood Grouse. It starts according to spring weather progress, between March and April and lasts until May or June. At the very beginning of dawn, the tree courting begins on a thick branch of a lookout tree. The cock postures himself with raised and fanned tail feathers, erect neck, beak pointed skywards, wings held out and drooped and starts his typical aria to impress the females. The typical song in this display is a series of double-clicks like a dropping ping-pong ball, which gradually accelerate into a popping sound like a cork coming of a champagne bottle, which is followed by scraping sounds. Towards the end of the courting season, the hens arrive on the courting grounds, for “play”. The cocks continue courting on the ground: this is the main courting season.
