Wolverine

Today I placed in the shop a new pattern of a very unusual animal – Wolverine, also called Forest Viking.

Wolverine is the totem of those who were born from January 11 to February 10. Wolverine is a very territorial beast – he makes sure that no stranger encroached on his property. Wolverine’s character is strong and inflexible – no one will be able to shake his beliefs and lead him astray. Nevertheless, Wolverine often puts the interests of his family and relatives above his own – if any of his family or friends have a problem, he will make every effort to help. Wolverine is quite self-critical – he knows all his strengths and weaknesses. He has a lot of friends, but he also has enough enemies. However, even the enemies feel respect for him and try not to cross his path once again.

It’s a pretty big member of the Cunya family. Externally, the wolverine resembles a miniature bear. Externally, the wolverine resembles a miniature bear. The wolverine is pretty beautiful. The color of fur varies from dark brown to black, sometimes there are light brown animals. Most have a light silver mask on their faces and light yellow or reddish stripes coming from their shoulders and converging on their sacrum. It lives in North America and northern Eurasia. It inhabits the northern taiga, forest-tundra. Wolverine is mainly active at night, but can also go hunting during the day. The scientific name Wolverine Gulo translates as “glutton”. She does not suffer from a lack of appetite, but she can also starve for several days. In general,  this animal is also called: the demon of the north, and a forest demon, and a damn bear, and a skunk bear. Apparently, the beast’s ability to pick up everything that is “badly lying” has generated a lot of stories about the unusual audacity, cunning, and cunning of the wolverine. Indeed, there is a sin behind it: it can ruin hunting traps, eat bait. For such tricks hunters consider her to be a “vicious predator”. But it does not cause direct harm to a person and can not attack him.

Update on Cloudberry

I spent the weekend stitching Cloudberry. The pattern is rather complicated (as all Serafima Abramova patterns) – a lot of blends, however two-tone of thread gives to stitching perfect shades and natural look. Not only that was a problem (generally I like blends), but backstitch of 2 strands is also tiring, but it emphasizes the volume of embroidery. The result is here: before backstitch and after it. Which one do you prefer?

Russian Greyhound Borzoi Counted Cross Stitch Pattern

Russian Greyhound Borzoi Pattern now is at my new shop StitchersLand. Borzoi also called the Russian wolfhound. “Borzoi” means “fast” translating from an archaic Russian adjective. These noble hunting dogs are fairly quiet, barking on rare occasions. As for their nature, they are gentle and highly sensitive with a natural respect for humans. Borzois do not generally show dominance or aggression towards people. Typically, they are rather reserved with strangers but affectionate with people they know well. What is more, they are very intelligent dogs with independent characters.

Cloudberry

Recently I got a new order: to cross stitch cloudberry, the pattern of which is in my shop. Which is the most interesting thing – I’ll have to frame this embroidery in a hoop, what I’ve made only once and it was Zodiac sign as a gift for my friend. Stitched cloudberry will be a gift for the customer’s mommy. So there are the first pictures of the stitching. I must say that the colors of this berry are beautiful, bright, autumnal and perfectly match our current weather. It is not difficult for me to imagine how such an embroidery can boost every room in the house during the long and dark winter. I think that the second one cloudberry I’ll cross stitch and frame for myself.

Cloudberry also called salmonberry, yellowberry, or baked apple berry is a plant in the rose family, native to the Arctic and subarctic regions of the north temperate zone. Eskimos and Sami collect the sweet juicy fruits in autumn to freeze for winter food. In northern Scandinavia, cloudberries are sold for use in preserves, tarts, and other confections (from https://www.britannica.com/plant/cloudberry)

Embroidery Workshop

There was a beautiful sunny day on Sunday here, in Warsaw, and we had the impression that the summer had come back. It is an unexpected pleasure to get such a gift from nature in October. What’s more, I signed up for the workshop with Michalina Mruczek on this day, so the day was going to be wonderful. Michalina’s embroidery I admire on Instagram for a long time. The workshops took place in the centre of Warsaw, in Nowy Swiat street, in Zaradne, where I felt like at home. Coffee, tea, meringue – all this creates a very friendly workshop atmosphere. At the start, we got from Michalina Belfast linen fabric, a hoop, 3 needles, Instruction with examples of stitches, patterns for embroidery, mouline Anchor and hand-dyed mouline from Kasia Michalina explains all the secrets of embroidery very precisely and still shows everyone exactly how and what to do. My work – in pictures.

Here you can see how our class looked like before the workshops and pay attention – on the table are beautiful Michalina’s works!  As I wrote in one of the previous posts, I have a kit from Michalina and I am going to use it! So, wait for the result 🙂

Crowntail Betta Fish

A new counted cross stitch pattern at the shop and this is Crowntail Betta Fish or simply known as Betta is a popular species of freshwater fish. It is also known as the Siamese fighting fish or the Betta spenders. The ancestors of this fish are believed to be native to the rice paddies of Thailand and Cambodia. This colorful fish is very much in demand because of their beautiful structure and moreover, they are easy to breed. However, if you don’t have or can’t have an aquarium at home and take care of this beautiful fish, you can cross stitch it and watch on the picture every day. This is the third chart of the fish in our shop and we hope not the last one.

Pullman Orient Express Rose

We have a new counted cross stitch pattern at the shop, dedicated to rose lovers and this is a beautiful Pullman Orient Express Rose – a large-flowered rose with incredibly wonderful flowers. Their yellow-pink colour and very large size make them eye-catching from afar. This rose’s charm is complemented by a fruity, sweet fragrance and beautiful, thick, dark green, glossy leaves.
