Raven Counted Cross Stitch Pattern

When we were in London in September, we planned to visit the Tower of London and we knew that no trip to the Tower would be complete without a sighting of a raven, which is the symbol of Monarchy, tradition, and history. “If the Tower of London ravens are lost or fly away, the Crown will fall and Britain with it.”Or so the legend goes! The ravens were there!

Ravens are one of the smartest animals, which sometimes associated with death and dark omen. Edgar Allan Poe knew what he was doing when he used the raven instead of some other bird to croak out “nevermore” in his famous poem. But the real bird is somewhat of a mystery. Cultures from Tibet to Greece have seen the raven as a messenger for the gods. Celtic goddesses of warfare often took the form of ravens during battles. The Viking god, Odin, had two ravens, which flew around the world every day and reported back to Odin every night about what they saw – more interesting facts about this bird you can read here

It is said, that people born in the month of Raven find strenth in solitude and don’t like the hustle and bustle. They can also easily find the right solution to any problem because of developed powerful intuition. As Ravens, they are always calm and confident, because these birds are associated with wisdom and insight knowledge. What is your Zodiac sight? Maybe Raven? Or Wolverine? We are going to create more Zodiac sights by Slavic Horoscope, so the theme is continued.

Update on Cloudberry

I spent the weekend stitching Cloudberry. The pattern is rather complicated (as all Serafima Abramova patterns) – a lot of blends, however two-tone of thread gives to stitching perfect shades and natural look. Not only that was a problem (generally I like blends), but backstitch of 2 strands is also tiring, but it emphasizes the volume of embroidery. The result is here: before backstitch and after it. Which one do you prefer?

Russian Greyhound Borzoi Counted Cross Stitch Pattern

Russian Greyhound Borzoi Pattern now is at my new shop StitchersLand. Borzoi also called the Russian wolfhound. “Borzoi” means “fast” translating from an archaic Russian adjective. These noble hunting dogs are fairly quiet, barking on rare occasions. As for their nature, they are gentle and highly sensitive with a natural respect for humans. Borzois do not generally show dominance or aggression towards people. Typically, they are rather reserved with strangers but affectionate with people they know well. What is more, they are very intelligent dogs with independent characters.

Autumn Handmade

Today autumn has suddenly begun: the air temperature dropped from 34 to 21 degrees Celsius overnight, it’s going to rain and the sun peeps out only occasionally. And so yesterday I created a set for hair in the autumn colours. It contains a big ponytail holder, two hair ties and a universal decoration, which can be a bracelet, and a necklace and just a hair decoration in the boho style.

Thai Jasmine Crochet Flowers

Delicate and expressive, not flat but convex, almost 3D-effect – this description best matches our new Thai Jasmine flowers. This time flowers are not snow white, but off-white, some kind of “champagne” colour… Made of 100% mercerized cotton, these flowers are the best for decorating children’s clothes, hats, toys, dollhouses; for creating children’s room decor, garlands; for scrapbooking, for making postcards and many other things, it all depends on your imagination.

Snowflakes

We got up this morning and it turned out to be autumn. Outside the window, there was a cloudy sky, rain and a temperature of 17С. I’m not complaining about this weather, because I can’t stand the heat, which has been attacking us lately, but still autumn always comes so unexpectedly … 🎋🍃🍂🍁However, there is another moment – you have to start preparing for Christmas, so today in our shop appear snowflakes. Crocheted of 100% cotton they are beautiful decorations for a Christmas tree. Snowflakes are stiffened and can decorate a fireplace or be an addition to gifts also. In general, how to use them is a matter of your imagination. For me, knitting snowflakes always means the end of summer and the approaching winter.❄️☃️❄️
