Daily writing prompt
What were your parents doing at your age?

When my parents were my age, they were retired. With plenty of free time, they spent most of it working in their garden. Their property included a house and a greenhouse. On their plot, apple, pear, and plum trees flourished alongside various shrubs—black and red currants, gooseberries, raspberries, and blackberries. In addition to these, there were lots of strawberries and various vegetables. Inside the greenhouse, they grew cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, and even watermelons. Beyond the practical plants, there were also many flowers, mostly peonies, in various colours, including white, dark red, and pink, which were my mother’s favourite. This garden demanded all their attention, and they were happy there. I inherited my love of working with the earth from them. That’s why, even though I live in a big city, I have a tiny garden under my window and enjoy tending to it.

Luna

I can’t wait—my kitten Luna arrives in two weeks! The last thing I searched for online was different items for cats. I looked for and bought a pet carrier, two toys, and a soft comforter for her. I’m so excited to welcome her to my home!

Typical day

Was today typical? In general, yes, it was. I had one online lesson in the morning and one live lesson in the afternoon (I mentioned that I teach foreign languages). The live lesson wasn’t typical because my student visited me at home; usually, I go to my students. I plan to go for a walk after dinner, and I hope the weather doesn’t frustrate it. It’s often raining these days, so fingers crossed.

Daily Routine

What time do you go to bed and wake up currently?

The best time to go to bed for me is midnight, and I feel fine when I wake up at eight in the morning. Sad to say, I work from 8 a.m. about twice a week. Fortunately, I work online, so that’s enough for me to wake up at 6:45 a.m. That’s how my routine looks.

Comfort

What strategies do you use to increase comfort in your daily life?
Unfortunately, the answer is one – full control. That helps me to feel safe and comfortable every day. I am working on this problem with my psychotherapist because it is a real problem, and it seems that things are slightly better. But a long way is before me.

The Quote

Daily writing prompt
Do you have a quote you live your life by or think of often?

Absolutely! The English idiom “Don’t judge a book by its cover” carries a significant message. It’s all too easy to make snap judgments about someone we meet for the first time, but these initial impressions can lead to misunderstandings and influence our social interactions. By looking beyond surface appearances, we open ourselves to richer connections and a deeper understanding of those around us.
