Under the Sea

Finally, after a long time, I managed to finish this project. It was one year Sal, arranged by lakesideneedlecraft The author of the pattern is, of course, Durene Jones I have to say that I love her patterns,  because they are fabulously beautiful. The heroes, colours, composition and aesthetics of her patterns create a harmonic picture that not only brings us back to our childhood, but also develops our taste. There is a lot of different sea creatures on it: fish, a shark, funny octopus, stars, even a submarine with a boy and a girl, two jellyfish, beautiful Mermaid, a tortoise, a crab, a crayfish, two seahorses, a manta ray, a squid, a snail and a diver. What is more, you can find an old trunk full of gold and jewelery and a lot of pearls on the seabed. So, I hope you understand, that it was a great pleasure to stitich this gorgeous project.

New Photos of an “Old” Collar

For quite a long time nobody paid attention to this collar and only my friends have been wearing it for years and are very satisfied with it. After all, he was bought and flew to South Korea, which surprised me a lot, because definitely closer to this country is Japan, and the Japanese handicraft is so beautiful, that I just dare to look at them and not even dream to try to do something similar. In any case, the collar flew and I’m looking forward to feed back.

Collar for a Doll

Our last order was a collar for a doll. White crochet Daisy with two leaves was only a small gift I added to this order. I hope the owner of the collar would be happy with this flower, which I crocheted of DMC no. 20 thread with no.12 0,6 mm Clover hook. And yes, I used French Knots for the middle part of Daisy.

Pink Peonies by Riolis

This was my first kit I’ve bought, because peonies were my mum favourite flowers. It was my mother, who taught me to cross stitch, embroider, knit and crochet. In memory of my mum I cross stitch these beautiful flowers.

The producer of the kit is Riolis Ltd., from Moscow, Russia riolis

The author of the pattern is an artist Anna Petrosyan.

The kit contais:

  • easy instruction in different languages: Russian, English, German, French, Spanish, and Italian;
  • multicolour chart (I prefer black and white charts, so it was some new experience for me);
  • 14 count white Zweigart Aida fabric (now I’ll change it to evenweave, but remeber, it was my first kit);
  • Anchor stranded thread (20 colours);
  • threads sampler;
  • a needle (a very thin and a very good needle).

The work is made with:

  • 1-strand cross-stitich;
  • 2-strand cross-stitches;
  • 3-strand cross stitches;
  • tapestry stitch of 1 strand;
  • back stitch with 1-strand stitch;
  • back stitch with 2-strand stitches.

What is more, 7 combined colours are used in this pattern. Thus, it was not as easy, as it seems to be, but the effect is worth the work I’ve done. Finished size 15 3/4” x 11 3/4” or 40 x 30 cm.

Thanks for the kind words! ★★★★★ “What beautiful workmanship! True artistry. The daisies are crafted so well and the fibers are a wonderful quality with a delicate sheen. The collar was also packaged beautifully. It came hand-stitched to a sturdy piece of board and was wrapped in a lovely paper. An extra daisy was also included and very much appreciated. I highly recommend this artist!” John S. https://etsy.me/2yaqGsf
