Marigold Postcard

Our last order was Marigold Postcard, which has gone today to Northern Irelan. It is a “Thank you” card from a granddaughter named Marigold to her Grandmother and Grandfather, so there is a nice inscription on it.

I’d like to share with you some more pictures about making a postcard. After I’ve stitched the flower and inscription, I washed it (in cold water with delicate detergent, using, for example, my shampoo for colored hair) and left to dry, but not to the end, because after some time I ironed stitching on the left side. Ironing straightens up crosses, they become more beautiful and equal. Then I fasten simple white paper on the back of embroidery with the help of Double Sided Tape. Next, I cut a passe-partout with my new scalpel and fasten embroidery to it (with the same Tape).  That’s almost all 🙂

Tablecloth

Some time ago I bought cotton thread for my crocheted collars. The thread was excellent, thin, mercerized in off white colour with a beautiful shade of champagne. More about this collar. Collars crocheted from this thread were popular at our shop. I thought I’d just be happy, but after a while I run out of thread, so I began to look for it on the Internet. Luckily, I found it quite quickly and immediately ordered. Unfortunately, it turned out to be similar, but not the same. Whoever knits or crochets, can understand me easily – the first part of coloured thread ended and the next one was a little different shade. What is more, the new thread was a little bit thicker. In general, it was not suitable for collars and it took me a lot of time to figure out, what to do with it. And then I saw a beautiful motif pattern, which I decided to use for a tablecloth. Thus, this is the first picture of it.

New Lace Collar

A new big lace collar with adjustable crochet ribbon is available at our shop. It was crocheted of white 100% mercerized cotton. This Peter Pan Victorian style lace collar is with approximately 50 cm (19,6 inches) neckline, the width of the collar is 10 cm (4 inches). Some pictures of it.

 

Furry Tales – Medieval Fun

A few weeks ago Kate Worthington  announced that together with dizainer Lucie Heaton organize free Sal, which they called Furry Tales – Medieval Fun. Every Friday the members of the group received a pattern and after 7 weeks I can show you the finished stitching. It was a pleasure to stitch these wonderful creatures in the Medieval style. Very funny and cheerful, no matter who they are – a King, a Quenn, a Princess, a Knight, a Wizard or a Jester – they evoke a smile on everyone’s face. Here are some pictures of the process. Inspired by Colours

On 11 October 2018, a meeting of the Jury of the VII edition of the Inspired by Colour competition organised by P.H. “SK”, a representative of the DMC brand in Poland and the Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź took place. 216 works by 130 authors from all over Poland were admitted to the competition. An award was granted in the Debut category. In the Personal Inspirations category, 3rd, 2nd and 1st place was awarded. Additionally, the CMW awarded two distinctions. The works were also awarded by regional representatives of the DMC brand, Wena Desing publishing house, haberdashery stores Jola from the Tricity, Internet shop, online coricamo shop, online bow shop and haberdashery shop A Guzik from Warsaw. Congratulations to all the awarded persons. The exhibition of all competition entries can be seen in the Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź until 11.11.2018.

This post is not accidental, because one of my works – Irys – received two awards. I am very grateful to the organizers of this competition, who gave me the opportunity to see a lot of beautiful works, which you can see by following the link below. In addition, I would like to thank the talented painter  Oksana Gatalskaja , the author of this beautiful Irys, according to which the designer Anna Kuznietsova made the pattern. Thank you!

New Lace Detachable Collar Necklace

The collar is not completely new, there is already similar cream in the shop. This time I got an order from New York for a white collar and I decided to improve the design a bit. I have to say that the effect have beyond all my wildest dreams,  “banch of grapes” (that’s what I called the part of a pattern)  is more prominent and looks beautiful. You can see for yourself. I’m not often fully satisfied with my works (perfection is my enemy), but this time I am.

Taurus

In spring I embroidered Taurus painting from the Zodiac Signs series as a birthday present for my friend. I bought the diagram in the Etsy shop at Satsuma.  The pattern is very clear, colours are wonderful, I enjoy each cross. Probably the Taurus on a black canvas would look better, but I already have problems with my eyes, for this I sew on the white evenweave with DMC thread. This is the result.

This was my first attempt to place the embroidery in the hoop and I must say that I am very pleased with the result. I watched a lot of tutorials how to do it on youtube and here are a few more photos of the back of this embroidery. I used white fetr to hide the back side of embroidery (unfortunately, I haven’t got an ideal back side of my cross stitich).
